2016 Tony Rosa Cup winners.
The 2016 Seniors Australian Bocce Championships was held in Liverpool Catholic Club NSW and was attended by a large audience 10 – 13 June 2016 attracting 11 men’s team and 8 women’s team across Australia. Many new friendships were established and old ones rekindled.
Our congratulations to Barbara Jones who won Second Runner-Up in Women’s Single and Bowl/Throw and had been awarded Best and Fairest Award for her overall achievements.
Also congratulations to our Men’s team who played well for their entire games. And last but not least, congratulations to our Women’s Double played by Elena Bunin and Luz Van Hemmen who came 3rd Place. Elena Bunin and Luz Van Hemmen had a great game in the Semi- Finals against Victoria Metro. It was a close match, everybody thought that it will be a draw, Queensland’s ball touched the jack; it was right near the jack, but the last ball of Victorian team pushed the Queensland’s team. At the end, Victorian team won by 1 point, it was indeed an exciting game. Elena and Luz’s team lost the game but they had proven that it’s not who wins the game but how you play your game. We can’t win unless we learn how to lose and the only way to prove that you’re a good sport is to lose.
