Allstars Netball Club Inc.
July 2018
Since the start of the season we have concentrated on development programs available for our members. The continuation of Net, Set, Go has welcomed girls into the sport who have never played before and we have seen them flourish into strong, confident players that we are proud to have represent Allstars Netball Club. Our ‘Coach the Coach’ Clinic held at Allstars was attended by all 18 Club coaches over a six week period commencing March 2018. We thank our Club coaches for their dedication to their teams in providing the most up to date skill development to our members.
Coaching programs have also extended to our junior members who were able to participate in a school holiday program that Allstars provided.  The program was run over the Easter School Holidays with over 30 children attending.  Due to the success of this program we will extend it for the July school holidays.   The Club engaged local personal trainer Pauline DeCosta to host fitness training sessions on Monday nights. This has been operating since March and through this program we seen significant success on the courts. Our 13/14 years Intermediate Division 1 team are now top of the table at the Redlands Netball Association competition and are set to take out the title once again.
We congratulate Allstars junior member Kydan, 12, who is playing in our Intermediate 13/14 years team and has been selected in the QLD State Junior Netball Team.  Kydan has worked exceptionally hard and we wish her all the very best in her netball endeavours.
Strategic planning has been at the forefront of our Club development this year and we have recently finalised the Club’s Operational Plan under the expertise of Club’s Expert Michael Connolley of CPR Group. This project was funded by Redland City Council’s Operational Support grant and we thank them for the continued support of our Club.   Through the Gambling Community Benefit Fund we were awarded grant money for the installation of grass courts. These courts have had a significant impact on the number of players we can have train at the same time, and it provides our members the experience of playing on different playing surfaces.
Thanks to the dedication of our volunteers, parents and the wonderful young members of our Club we are looking forward to a strong finish to the season in September.
We thank the Redlands Sporting for their ongoing support of our Club.   If you would like to know more about the great game of Netball, please call me on 0409 156 902.
