By the time this report goes to air we will have run our annual “Back 2 Tanga” game fish tournament. The tournament is held every year and is run out of our property at Tangalooma on Moreton Island. This year we have 31 game fishing boats registered with approximately 100 anglers competing to take out some of the magnificent trophies.

Moreton Bay and it`s surrounds has a long history of game fishing starting with the formation of the Moreton Bay Game Fish Club in 1953 when a small group of keen anglers realised that there was a large variety of game fish in the area. The sport of game fishing is now a wide spread recreational activity around Australia. The game fish available in our area ranges from small pelagices to giant blue and black marlin. These days most game fish are not captured but are tagged and released.
