Redlands Cricket Inc held it’s AGM on Monday, 2 August. The only change in the Committee structure was the junior representative Craig McNair from the Cleveland Thornlands Club who took over from Darren Wallis.
After a successful 2015/16 season where Redlands Tigers won the Club Championship, the 1st Grade Premiership was semi-finalist in all six Premier competitions. The spotlight will be on all teams to reproduce the form that they showed last season.
At the AGM RCI Club President Mark French and Mark Burrows from Alexandra Hills Cricket Club were awarded Life membership of RCI for their many years of service as volunteers to a Sport that both enjoy being a part of.
Redlands Cricket fields were alive with male and female Cricketers on Saturday, 10 September 2016 as the Premier Competition for 2016/17 commenced.
It was great to see The Queensland Fire women’s team in action. The club was delighted to see that these senior players took the opportunity to warm up with the Redlands Women’s 2nd grade team which has been reformed and will play in the Women’s Premier competition commencing in October.
Redlands 1st Grade team played a one-day match against Western Suburbs on the Peter Burge Oval and unfortunately were beaten by a stronger outfit on the day.
Redlands 2nd Grade played West’s at Graceville and were set a target of 206 runs to win. The Tigers were 1 for 31 when play was abandoned due to the wet weather.
Our Under 16 Taverners team played Toombul at home on Sunday. Redlands scored a convincing win with Luke Graham taking four wickets including a hat trick.
All Grades are in action on 17 and 18 September 2016 and we look forward to another successful season.
