The Redlands Sporting Club Pipe Band has been busy in the community over the past quarter playing at several local school fetes and concerts On 30 July we played at Birkdale South State School fete performing several times during the day. It was great to see the younger members of the community enjoying our performance. We also played at a fund raising charity ceilidh which is a traditional Scottish musical event. We played several times throughout the night along with other performers and in keeping with Scottish traditions indulged in a couple of wee drams. And on 16 August we played at Redlands Performing Arts Centre for the University of the 3rd Age. A great concert was put on showing musical talents from a variety of backgrounds. The photo is of us playing on stage We have also been very busy working on teaching our group of learners in both the bagpipe and the drums. We definitely have some young stars coming through the ranks.
