Redlands had 23 swimmers competing at the 2017 Vorgee Brisbane Short Course Championships on the first weekend of August.  It was a great weekend of strong competition with 99 individual events swum by our members.  Five of our swimmers won 7 medals between them.  Dominic Dunstan (14) Silver 400m IM & Bronze 200m Breaststroke, Ben Garozzo (14) Gold 400m Freestyle & Gold 1500m Freestyle, Nick Garozzo (19) Bronze 200m Backstroke, Jackson Murphy (13) Silver 50m Backstroke, Bailey Somerville(12) Gold 400m IM.

On Sunday, 10 September we held our annual interclub carnival the ‘2017 Redlands Long Course Preparation Meet’.  This carnival was our largest to date with 350+ swimmers competing from 22 different clubs from all over Brisbane.  It was a huge day with competitions running from 9am to 5.30pm.  The effort of our committee and volunteers was second to none ensuring the day ran smoothly.  September was also the start of our club night competition, which runs until May 2018.

Our swimmers will continue preparing for the upcoming Brisbane and QLD Open Water competitions in October and QLD Long Course championships in December.
