Our Ladies Silver Super Challenge teams were victorious in this competition winning the final and beating some of the game’s best players. Our Men’s Gold Team just missed out in playing in the finals losing to the eventual winners 3 rinks to 2. The Easter Carnival sponsored by Barton’s Motors was again a very successful event. Our Ladies have completed the A Singles Club Championships with Jo Mahony winning and the B Singles Club Championship with Leanne Grieve the winner. Three of our ladies were selected to represent the Ladies Gateway District in the State District sides’ competition. The Gateway Ladies were runners up in this State wide competition. The Men’s Championship 4’s was won by Peter Shaw, Warren Chambers, Doug Reynolds and Don Fowler. The Club Championship Pairs was won by Peter Shaw & Toni Donda. Peter Shaw won the District Singles. Wellington Point has won this event for the last 3 years. Men’s & Ladies Pennants will be starting in July and we look forward to all our members playing to the best of their ability. It was with sadness that we farewelled our Life Member Reg Pattemore (pictured with his wife in the lounge), who will be long remembered by us all.
