Golfers at Charity Golf Day

Paul McMahon, Ricky McKinless, Brad Udowika, David Ang at the Charity Golf Day.

With the colder months now behind us we are sure to see an increase in playing numbers as we get into the business end of the year. Our Club Champions are just beginning and are due to be played over two weekends in October at Carbrook and Redcliffe with some very strong competition expected in all three grades. The final of our Match Play Trophy is then scheduled to be played in November at Surfers Paradise between Tony McKinless and Frank Chambers.
We have also completed two of our trophy events in the last few months. The first was our Winter Cup, a 4BBB Stroke event, played at Gainsborough Greens with Nick Edwards and Peter Shaw the winners with a net 61 from Darren Munro and Bob Sturdy with a net 65. The second was our rescheduled 4BBB Stableford Trophy played at Mt Warren Park with the winners being Eddie Wilkins and Bruce Forward with 45 points on a countback from Mick Richardson and Jack Butler.
The club also had two teams entered in the recent Charity Golf Day at Redland Bay with the team comprising Ricky McKinless, Brad Udowika, Paul McMahon and David Ang being the winners with the best net score on the day. This was followed by our second bus trip of the year to Murwillumbah and then our Father’s Day game at Howeston, both of which were greatly enjoyed by all members in attendance.
The committee are actively looking to increase the club membership, so if you are looking to have a social game of golf on a Sunday morning with a great bunch of people please contact Eddie Wilkins on 0414904914 or  Email: rscsgolf@gmail.com
